General Information:

Due to pandemic circumstances, the Encaustic Art Institute is taking encaustic/wax workshops online and also shifting in-person workshops to instructors’ studios.

  • Our education programs/workshops encompass every level of instruction on encaustic/wax from the complete beginner with no prior experience, to artists with advanced skills. We usually provide the skill level recommended for each workshop listing, if you have a question, or the listing doesn’t specify a skill level, don’t hesitate to ask us.
  • The art instructors are rotated, topics vary from month to month, and fees vary depending on the length of the workshop and instructor. We strive to offer workshops that cover a wide range of topics and applications for working in encaustic/wax.
  • Zoom (online/live), as well as in-person workshops are offered. You’ll find detailed instructions about how to register, COVID-safe requirements, waiver forms, etc.
  • Workshop listings have either a “MORE INFORMATION” link or link to instructors’ websites below the workshop, click the link to read a detailed description of the workshop.
  • All proceeds from workshops with Douglas Mehrens as the instructor go the support the non-profit (501c-3) Encaustic Art Institute.
  • Other EAI members are now administering their own workshops within our (EAI) sponsorship. Instructions to register for these workshops will be found listed under each of these workshops, with links to the instructors’ websites and/or email addresses for registration/questions.

Registration:

Before you register: Contact Mehrens@eainm.com of 505-424-6487 for questions about registration and space availability.
