Staying Safe and Sociable/Below” hot wax, oil pigment stick, embedded photo, cold wax finish, over cradled panel, 14 x 14 inches
Artist Statement:
This is an image of sociable beings in a landscape of no people. I used two embedded photos; one of the central figures which are actually raku-fired pieces I made in clay; the other photo is the overall foreground and remaining space and is the ancient village in Matera, Italy where I visited recently. This piece tells a story of two levels of living: staying “low” and staying in touch.
Price: $750.00 + $45 shipping fee
The images below offer two views of Staying Safe and Sociable/Below in situ to help to visualize this piece in a home setting.
