Artist Statement:

While paddling my kayak in the tidal creek of the Lowcountry of South Carolina, I encountered this moment.  Guys of different races and ages hanging out together.  This, I thought is how change happens.   I loved the boy observing the quiet and accepting relationship of these two men.  I also used the perspective of the boy leaning into the “bridge” between races and generations.
