Artist Statement:

During the pandemic, nature figured prominently in our lives. The grasses are gently swaying and encompass most of the canvas to wrap the viewer in their comforting embrace.  The sky is calm with no distractions beyond the grasses, bringing peace in a disrupted world.  When I was creatively stuck over this past year it was often less emotionally demanding to paint landscapes instead of abstracts which I created using cold wax technique for the first time. Solitude, stillness, presence in the moment:  the healing power of nature.
