Theme of artwork to be submitted: “Making Your Mark”.  Mark making is the most basic way of communicating between humans. It can be a way to express ideas, images, or thoughts. Cavemen made marks to depict life events with their cave drawings. Egyptians communicated with their hieroglyphic marks. We make marks to communicate in our written language. A mark can be a number or a letter, or it can be just a line or smear. Mark making is, then, making any mark on any surface. But in the artist’s hands, it is also about adding details to impart meaning and depth. Juror, David Limrite, will make his selections based on interpretation of the “Making Your Mark” theme as well as the quality of the submitted work.

Eligibility:  This Exhibition is a National Exhibition, open to all encaustic/wax artists who are a member of either organizations of Encaustic Art Institute (EAI), or International Encaustic Artists (IEA). Artists may enter up to three images per entry for review. Only one (1) piece per artist may be selected for the exhibition. (Do not send “detail” images of paintings). ALL PAINTINGS MUST BE FOR SALE.
