CALL FOR ART: CONFERENCE ATTENDEES
EAI is cordially inviting all Conference attendees to submit one piece of art for an exhibition which will be held in Santa Fe, NM during the Conference and will be shown at the Museum of Encaustic Art.
CONFERENCE EXHIBITION: CASH PRIZES
A $300 cash prize will go to the “Best of Show” with $200 going to second place. Winners will be determined by a “vote” at the opening and during the 4-week duration from museum/gallery attendees. Winners will be notified the last day of the exhibition and will be posted here on September 26th through Oct 18th.

THEME OF ARTWORK TO BE SUBMITTED:
Discover the Art of WAX
This exhibition is not juried and has no direct theme. Instead, we celebrate the process of every encaustic/wax artist in their discovery of the endless possibilities of wax. We also celebrate all the attendees of this conference and wish to display their work for one month in the Museum of Encaustic Art. All work must be for sale.
ELIGIBILITY
This Exhibition is open to all encaustic/wax artists who have registered for the 2020 International Art Conference. ALL PAINTINGS MUST BE FOR SALE. EAI will take 50% of sales to support their 501c3. Please price your pieces accordingly.
ARTWORK AND IMAGE REQUIREMENTS
Artwork cannot exceed 24 x 24 inches approximately or 36 x 24 x 24 inches for 3-D work. If your piece goes over slightly, that is OK. All work must be for sale. Shipping costs of sold artwork will be the responsibility of the buyer. Shipment of artwork to MoEA/EAI and return shipping for unsold work is the responsibility of the artist – see note below. All work must represent encaustic/wax, including cold wax and mixed mediums. Jpegs of work must be sent to eainm.info@gmail.com for marketing efforts and exhibition organization.
IMPORTANT INFO FOR DELIVERY OF ARTWORK
- Hand-delivered work must arrive before September 16th. NO EXCEPTIONS. Hand-deliveries should be made to: EAI/MoEA, 632 Agua Fria St, Santa Fe. We are closed on Mondays. See hours in the sidebar of the website, or contact us at: Mehrens@eainm.com or 505-989-3283.

A required signature is a MUST at this location.

- ALL ARTWORK (including hand-delivered pieces) MUST have a label securely attached to the back (or bottom of a 3-d piece). Click here to download the label. Print it out, fill it out and attach it to your piece.
- If you are a late registry for the Conference and would like to hand-carry your piece with you on the plane, please let us know so we can hold a space on the wall for your piece.
- RETURN SHIPPING LABELS ARE MANDATORY for all work submitted for this exhibit. Please acquire the return shipping label as you are shipping your package, or send us your shipping account information. Artists are responsible for paying the return shipping of unsold art.
- All artwork must be ready to hang with a secure wire across the back. No sawtooth hangers. ARTWORK WITHOUT THE PROPER MEANS TO HANG IT, WILL NOT BE HUNG.
- All artists submitting work for the exhibit must email their gallery label information and a jpg of their piece to Kari Gorden at eainm.info@gmail.com by September 1st. Label information should include:
– Artist name (as you wish it to appear on the label – i.e. if you use a different name than you commonly use. write it as you wish it to appear on the label)
– State, (two-letter abbreviation – or province name/country if you are from outside the US)
– Title
– The medium used AND the substrate used (eg: birch panel, on paper, etc.)
– Price
In your email, please also include the dimensions of your piece noting which dimension is the height and width. This information will assist Douglas in planning to hang the exhibit. - JPEG included in email with gallery label information should be high-quality image suitable for use in publicity materials, this means:
– Image saved at 300 dpi with largest dimension saved at no larger than 1000 px.
– Images should be cropped close to the edges of your piece so the image is centered and squared to the camera. Minor adjustments can be made if needed but please send best quality possible

PROMOTION
EAI will promote this show within their respective mailing lists and social media. Promotion will include art periodicals throughout the region, press releases, articles, reviews will be distributed, and an ad in “THE” magazine, New Mexico’s best and widely distributed art magazine. Artists are encouraged to advertise their entries on their websites and networks.
