The jurors, Nanette Newbry and Richard Dowdy have completed the jury process for the 2019 Global Warming is REAL Exhibition and the announcements of their results have been emailed to the entrants. We thank the jurors for their careful consideration of entries and look forward to a wonderful exhibition. Thank you too for the interesting and thought-provoking entries we received for this exhibit. We are pleased to announce the artists accepted for this exhibition.

We hope to see you at the opening reception, Saturday, September 21 from noon to four pm at the Museum of Encaustic Art, 632 Agua Fria, Santa Fe, NM 87501.

In addition to the exhibit, the Museum is collaborating with ARTsmart, a local non-profit whose mission is to teach art to children. Works of encaustic art with the theme “What We Love about the Earth” will be featured and on display until October 27. ARTsmart thanks MoEA and Douglas Mehrens for facilitating and instructing the students at the Museum to learn encaustic and come up with their unique interpretation of global warming. Admission to view the ARTsmart children’s work is free, and the exhibit is on display through Oct. 27, just mention it at the front desk.

Saturday, September 21st, from 2:30 – 3:30 pm the Roaming Writers Group is sponsoring readings by writers from Santa Fe. The readings will be presented at the opening reception for the Global Warming is REAL exhibition, admission to the Museum is free on Saturday, Sept 21.

On Sunday, September 22, 3:00 pm at the Museum of Encaustic Art – Bob Kreger, of the Santa Fe Chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby, will present, “A Good Planet is Hard to Find”. The Museum’s admission fees on Sunday, Sept 22 are being donated to the Citizens’ Climate Lobby.
